We are so excited it’s Summer Time! Even though school is out, Radiate has got it going on and we’re here for you with loads of activities to help you stay connected with your friends AND with Jesus.

All rising 9th Graders are invited to participate in both MS & HS events during the summer.
All graduated high school seniors are invited to participate in both HS & College events.
Any events that list a specific grade are based on the grade the student just completed.
Ongoing Activities
Radiate LifeGroups will continue on Sunday Mornings at 9:30 and 11 AM all summer long!
If you’ve never been to a LifeGroup, summer is a great time to jump in! Visit us at the Radiate Welcome Desk for a special guest goodie bag and we’ll direct you to your classroom and introduce you to our amazing leaders and students.

We’ll talk about what to pack, camp rules, and more.

2 | MS (completed 6th-8th grade) | 1-2:30 PM | Summer Kickoff: Guys & Girls Pool Parties | email us for address | Guys: The Elmer’s Home, Girls: The Smith’s Home | Let’s head to the pool Middle School! Wear your swimsuit (girls – one piece suits, please!) and sunscreen, bring a towel, and cool off in the pool as we kick off an awesome summer of fun!
2 | HS (completed 8th-12th grade) | 4-5:30 PM | Mario Kart, Pickleball & Volleyball | BHBC Gym | High schoolers are you ready for some fun hangout time? Whether you’re a pickleball champ or gaming’s more your thing, we’re bringing the fun and we want you to join us. Meet us in the Gym at the church!
4 | MS & Rising 6th Graders | 11:30-1 PM | **Lunch @ Moe’s | Everybody’s got to eat lunch, so why not eat lunch with your friends? Bring your money for lunch, your best buddy, and come hang out with us at Moe’s. Let’s pack it out! (Located across from The Avenues on Dallas HWY)
5 | MS & HS Girls (completed 6th-12th grade) | 6:30-8 PM | Glow in the Dark Dance Party | Radiate Auditorium | Girls, it’s your time to GLOW! Join us for a night of glowy, girly fun in the Radiate Auditorium.
9 | HS (completed 8th-12th grade) | 12:30-1:30 | Lunch at Otter’s Chicken | High schoolers, bring some money for lunch and your friends and come join us for lunch at Otter’s. (Located at The Avenues on Dallas HWY)
11 | HS (completed 8th-12th grade) | 6-8 PM | Refuel + Volleyball | Grab your Bible, high schoolers! Come join us on the back lawn for our Refuel Bible Study and stay for volleyball. Invite your friends to come, too!
13 | HS (completed 8th-12th grade) | 12:30-1:30 PM | High School Meetup @ Brusters | It’s time for ICE CREAM! High school, let’s meet up at Brusters and hang out. Bring some money for your ice cream and invite a friend to come with you.

30 | MS and Rising 6th Graders | **Refuel + Backyard Games | BHBC Back Lawn | Middle schoolers, come meet us on the back lawn for a night of fun games! Bring your Bible and a water bottle, we’ll have the spikeball, volleyball, 9 Square in the Air and more!
July:
2 | MS & HS Guys (completed 6th-12th grade) | 1:30-3 PM PM | Ultimate Frisbee | Meet on the BHBC Front Lawn | Put on some sunscreen and head on over for an awesome game of Ultimate Frisbee with the guys! We’re excited for an afternoon of fun with just the boys.
3 | MS (completed 6th-8th grade) | 9 AM-2PM | Lakepoint Station Outing* | Registration Required | Cost: $20 + $$ for lunch at Chick-fil-A | Meet at Lakepoint Station (10 AM-1 PM) or reserve transportation | Middle school is heading to Lakepoint Station for some Mini Gold, Clip n Climb, and Laser Tag. Then we’ll head to the Chick-fil-A for lunch before heading back to the church.
6 | No LifeGroups | Join us for the family patriotic services at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church at 9:30 & 11 AM.
9 | MS & Rising 6th Graders | 11:30 AM-1 PM | **Lunch @ Chick-fil-A Brookstone | Middle schoolers, meet us at the Brookstone Chick-fil-A and have lunch with us! Bring a friend and money for your lunch!
9 HS (completed 8th-12th grade) | 6-8 PM | Refuel + Game Show Night | Radiate Auditorium & Cafe | High schoolers, grab your Bibles and come join us for a night of digging into the Word together followed by the ultimate Radiate Game Show Night!
13-16 | HS Seniors (completed 12th grade) | Senior Lake Retreat* | Cost $75 | Registration & Medical Release Form Required | Calling all of our newly graduated high school seniors…we’re heading to the lake for a retreat. Take a break from all the busyness of getting ready for the next chapter of your life and come hang out with friends, reminisce and help pour into the future of Radiate Students.
14 | MS and Rising 6th Graders | 1-2:30 PM | **Refuel + Slip N Slide Kickball | BHBC Front Lawn | It’s time for a refuel from God’s word. Come join us as we dive in the book of Colossians! Then…the fun begins with a Radiate style game of Kickball combined with slip n slides. Come ready to get wet and bring a towel and your Bible!

20 | Rising 6th Graders & Parents | 12:30-1 PM | **Rising 6th Graders Parent Meeting | Radiate Auditorium | All students who are starting middle school this fall AND their parents are invited to come join us for a time to learn about Radiate Students, check out upcoming events, meet our staff, and get the inside scoop about our student ministry to help make the transition from children’s ministry to student ministry as smooth as possible.

Meet us for a day on the lake! Wear your swimsuit and water shoes or strap-on sandals, bring your sunscreen and a towel and come ready for a day of FUN!

August:

August 6 | MS & HS | Back to School Bash | We’re kicking off MDWK and a new school year with Paint Wars!
August 17 | MS & HS Parents & Students | Radiate All Access Night | Radiate Auditorium | 6:30-7:30 PM | Join us as we cast the vision for another year of Radiate Students…consider it your VIP Backstage Pass to all things Radiate! Will we announce the 2026 International Student Mission Trip? Yes. Yes we will. Plus we’ll share about some exciting events coming up in the 2025-26 school year!
Please note: All students traveling with Radiate this summer are required to fill out a 2024 Medical Release Form. This will cover all trips for the remainder of 2024. Please note this form must be notarized. Contact Maria at mthomas@burnthickory.com to set up a time Mondays-Thursdays if you need a notary.
*** Radiate Swimsuit Guidelines: Girls, one-pieces please, no strapless or cheeky suits. Guys, your swim shorts need to be appropriate as well.
